Registration for Velo Mondial 2006 is open. To register as a delegate and to reserve accommodation, please follow the steps detailed below:

Notes Regarding Fees
1. The Early Delegate Fee will only apply to registrations received on or before 17h00 GMT
on the 20th January 2006.
2. The Presenter Fee only applies to confirmed Velo Mondial 2006 Presenters.
Without a confirmation as presenter, another category must be selected.
3. The Discount Delegate Fee is applicable only to full time students; accredited NGO volunteers;
cycle advocacy group volunteers and delegates from African countries.
4. Fees must be processed in South African Rand. These exchange rates have been estimated for convenience only and are subject to change. Consult your bank for current exchange rates.

    2. Bank Transfer – Please contact Velo Mondial 2006 Conference Secretariat for Swift transfer details
    3. Cheque – Made payable to Velo Mondial 2006 Cape Town Conference. Cheque must be in ZAR currency.

    Conference Registration Terms and Conditions

    1. Registration will only be valid once all monies are received
    2. All payments to be made payable to Velo Mondial 2006
    3. All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations 90 days prior to the beginning of the conference will receive a full refund less a 10% administration fee. Cancellation between 90 and 30 days will be refunded 50% of the fees less the administration fees; if registration fees are outstanding the delegate will be liable for 50% of the conference fees. No refunds will be provided for cancellations and no shows within 30 days of the start of the conference and the delegate will be liable for the full conference fee
    4. Completed registrations will be acknowledged within 7 days
    5. Registrations are transferable to delegates not yet registered only if informed in writing
     

    Accommodation

    Cape Town has a wide range of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets. The Velo Mondial 2006 Conference Secretariat has selected a range of hotels for delegates to choose from and has negotiated reduced rates. All the hotels have easy access to the CTICC, and most are within walking distance. For convenience, delegates can book accommodation with their registration (please see the "Accommodation Booking" section on the Registration Form). It is strongly advised that delegates reserve accommodation early to ensure availability.

    If delegates would prefer to book a Bed and Breakfast or a Guesthouse for themselves, the Conference Secretariat can provide a list of alternatives, or recommends Cape Town and Western Cape Tourism as a starting point: www.tourismcapetown.co.za

    Rates quoted are per room / per night / inclusive of breakfast / inclusive of 14 % VAT.
    Excluding a compulsory 1% Government Tourism Levy
     

    Bicycle Hire

    Bicycles-for-hire will be available for delegates and partners to use for the duration of the conference. They will be suitable for recreational participants in the Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Cycle Tour but more serious competitors will want to bring their own bicycle.

    Bicycles-for-hire are the ‘California Bike’ – a utility bike designed for African conditions and distributed in many African countries to promote personal mobility. See www.itdp.org/californiabike for more information.

    The cost to hire a bike for the conference is ZAR 150.00. At the end of the conference, participants will be able buy their bicycle for ZAR 750.00 and donate it to the Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN) for distribution through their programmes.

    Helmets and locks will also be available for a nominal fee.
