Cape Town has a wide range of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets. The Velo Mondial 2006 Conference Secretariat has selected a range of hotels for delegates to choose from and has negotiated reduced rates. All the hotels have easy access to the CTICC, and most are within walking distance.

For convenience, delegates can book accommodation with their registration (please see the "Accommodation Booking" section on the Registration Form, found on the Information and Registration page.

It is strongly advised that delegates reserve accommodation early to ensure availability.

If delegates would prefer to book a Bed and Breakfast or a Guesthouse for themselves, the Conference Secretariat can provide a list of alternatives, or recommends Cape Town and Western Cape Tourism as a starting point: www.tourismcapetown.co.za

Terms and Conditions

Hotel Reservation Procedure
Reservations will be made on behalf of delegates by the Velo Mondial 2006 Conference Secretariat. Please complete the appropriate section on the registration form specifying single or double occupancy, check-in/check-out dates, and any other special requests.

To ensure that your accommodation is secure, please book prior to the 5th January 2006. Any accommodation requests received after this date will be dealt with on a per availability basis.

PLEASE NOTE: The week of the conference is one of the busiest in Cape Town due to the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour – hotel availability is very scarce.

In order to secure accommodation, one night’s deposit is required. Accordingly a credit card number is required. Your card detail will be forwarded to the hotel in order that they charge your card to secure your reservation prior to your arrival. Please ensure that the card is valid at the time of the conference, failing which your accommodation cannot be guaranteed. Full payment for the balance of your accommodation and extras must be settled in South African Rand (ZAR) at check-out.

Check-in/Check-out
Check-in is 15h00 on the day of arrival and check-out is 10h00 on the day of departure. Should an early check-in be required, every effort will be made to arrange this. However, early check-in cannot be guaranteed unless the room is reserved and paid for for the night prior to arrival.

Cancellation
In the case of a cancellation, the deposit is not refundable. Should you fail to arrive as scheduled, the hotel will debit your credit card for the loss of revenue for the night or nights in question. Should you fail to arrive at all (no-show), the hotel will charge a 100% penalty on the total number of room nights originally booked.

Please Note
All reservations are made on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The stated room rates and availability are valid through the 5th January 2006. Thereafter, no rates or availability can be guaranteed and requests will be dealt with according to the current availability and rates at the hotels.

Passport Details
Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be required to complete a form with your address and passport details. If you wish to speed up this process, please complete your passport details on the Conference Registration Form (nationality, passport number and expiry date). This will ensure that you only need sign the pre-completed form on arrival.
