The conference gets underway on Sunday,
5th March with Delegate Registration followed by a Welcome
Reception, both at the CTICC. The Welcome Reception will allow
the Hosts and organisers to welcome the delegates and accompanying
partners to Cape Town and provide and opportunity for participants
to get to know each other.
The conference will run from Monday through Thursday and
will consist of traditional plenary sessions as well as the
Marketplace – a new look at conference methodology promising
a vibrant and interactive alternative to traditional workshops
and poster presentations.
A Gala Dinner will be held for all delegates and accompanying
persons on Wednesday, 8th March. This event will add an element
of glamour to the conference proceedings, and afford guests
an opportunity to relax and enjoy an evening of music, dancing
and gourmet food.
Technical and Site Visits will be available for delegates
on Friday, 10th March, and other non-conference activities
will also be available for delegates still in Cape Town over
the weekend.
The end of the conference coincides with the Cycle Tour Expo,
a huge cycling and lifestyle exhibition running for the three
days prior to the Cape Argus Pick n’ Pay Cycle Tour.
All delegates are encouraged to participate in the Cape Argus
Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour, Cape Town’s most famous
event and the world’s largest timed sporting event.
Despite the difficulty in securing a Cycle Tour entry, all
Velo Mondial 2006 delegates will be guaranteed an entry into
the Cycle Tour if they wish to ride. On Sunday, 12th March,
a Supporters Programme for non-riders will be arranged and
will meet up with riders at the finish line festivities.
Velo Mondial 2006 delegates can register for the Cycle Tour
on their delegate registration form. Please see the Information
& Registration page. For more information on the Cycle
Tour, please visit the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle
Tour website.
