Over the course of three days, participants explored emerging
as well as familiar issues facing persons with
disability and the sector. In plenary and workshop
sessions, speakers addressed critical topics,
sharing expertise and presenting the state of
play in their areas of concern. Delegates were
also assertively involved in the panel discussions,
posing tough questions and offering solutions.
Through the technique of Appreciative
Inquiry, participants at Access 2004 created a
positive discussion environment, shared successes
and dreams, and offered design solutions for improving
access. Connecting on a personal level, delegates
were able to build relationships and find their
voices on the strength of shared experience.
